Research into the pharmacokinetics of drug-like substances in animal biological matrices (e.g. plasma, urine) for initial early development programs such as an Investigational New Drug (IND) and a New Chemical Entity (NCE) are carried out by our ADME unit.
The ADME unit can offer analyses for the useful assessment of pharmacokinetics and bioavailability (half life, systemic bioavailability, AUC, Cmax, etc.). The administration of potential drug-like compounds or other substances to small rodents can be carried out in our pharmacological department. Pharmacokinetics studies on dogs or monkeys can be conducted in collaboration with our partners. Blood samples are collected at intervals over a predetermined period of time after dosing and the drug is quantified in serum or plasma by the latest bioanalytical methods (HTLC/MS/MS). Our systems allow for the direct injection of plasma into the system. If it is required by the customer, we are also able to use classic sample preparation techniques such as protein precipitation, liquid/liquid extraction, or solid-phase extraction. The HTLC technique also allows for a direct injection of urine or other biological samples as well.
